What’s love got to do with it?

Happy VDay lovers, hope you’re treating yourselves to a romantic dinner, a galantine’s date, or a sweet treat today. Seems timely to mention that feeling the love is actually a big help when it comes to motivation and crushing our goals. Let’s talk dopamine…

Dopamine is a ‘happy hormone’ we experience when we do something pleasurable, it’s actually closely linked to motivation because the brain chemical actually encourages us to seek the activities that give us this rush.

Aside from that ‘in love’ feeling, here’s a few other ways to get that dopamine hit and get motivated!

Pump up the jam.. Aerobic exercise can help boost your dopamine levels. Break a bit of a sweat and you’ll be surprised at your motivation level when you sit down to send that next email.

All I do is winwinwin no matter what.. Share your wins. Praise and recognition increase motivation and release dopamine, but also remind your brain that more of this activity will lead to more of this happy hormone which motivates you to keep up the good work!

What ever it is that makes you feel good, keep doing that. Today is all about feeling the love so ride that wave, whether it’s a new crush, your bf/gf/husband or wife, a galentine, a beer with a mate or a romantic walk with your dog. Go get that dopamine rush and enjoy it.
